If you have never heard of Off-White, let us introduce you to it. It’s a luxury brand of streetwear clothes based in Italy and founded by Virgil Abloh. Virgil, whose parents are from Ghana, was raised in Chicago. Although he is a designer for many other brands outside of Off-White, his background is actually in engineering and architecture.
You might have heard of him from his work with Kanye West. He worked as the art director for Jay-Z and Kanye West’s 2012 album Watch the Throne. He’s also the creative director for Kanye West. Before he embarked on Off-White, Virgil had a streetwear label, Pyrex Vision, that he opened in Chicago. He has worked with huge brands like Nike and Snapchat.
